I’m Carrington Chatman. I am the co-founder and Chief Financial Officer for Poppy's Wings. I have worked in various industries over the years, such as customer service, food/beverage, and finance/accounting. As a kid, I would visit my grandmother and "Poppy" Hayes, where I learned many key values that ultimately shaped my character today. One of the most important values established was the importance of family and goodwill within the community. My grandparents would host various family gatherings at their home during my visit, and I would help wherever needed to prepare for the festivities. One task I always looked forward to helping with, and by far my favorite, was cooking! I was always intrigued with learning family recipes that had been passed down for generations, which ultimately became a critical factor in spearheading the birth of Poppy's Wings. My interest had then been realized as a passion; I knew then there was no turning back.
My name is Wanda Bryant. I'm the co-founder and CMO (Chief Marketing/Sales Officer) of Poppy's Wings, also known as "Auntie." A little bit about myself: I've worked in Corporate America for over 20 years in finance, always wanting and dreaming of starting my own business. So, during Covid, I did just that and took a leap of faith! My family and I all love to cook, as well as entertain, and we would do so by hosting dinner parties for friends and family. My stepdad, Poppy Hayes, and my mother, Geneva, instilled many great values in us, from family, church, and great Southern cuisine! So, for me, it was a no-brainer creating something that incorporated our past as well as our future for generational wealth!
Outside of Poppy's Wings, I'm a party promoter and the founder of "Joyland's Speakeasy."
My name is Louis (Tre') Chatman III. I am one of the co-founders of Poppy's Wings, and I also serve as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). I spent many summers in Oklahoma with my grandparents and learned core values about life, family structure, and being a contributor to the community. I would work with my grandmother and fish with my grandfather (Poppy) all summer long. Hard work was something the family was quite familiar with. Along with the core values in my upbringing and my corporate expertise specializing in business operations with a background in IT Project Management, it was only a matter of time before something was created we could call our own. My family and I established Poppy's Wings during Covid and would prepare meals for our close friends and family. I love being a part of the community, and having family by your side makes it even better. Those core values came back full circle!
